Recreating descriptions of phantom limbs in medical literature. This work was created under a larger set of questions regarding the ways the body carries otherness and marks the beginning of my inquiry into subjectivity. This phenomenon presents a phantom itch for empirical thinking because it cannot be explained, observed, or quantified. This pain presents a unique problem in terms of measurement, because somewhere between 0 and 10 the flesh remembers what the body forgets.
