This is a series of ink brush paintings drawn with ultrapure water. The paintings feature mythological characters invoked in rainmaking rituals and the landscapes of Taiwan. In the last large rainmaking ceremony, a rainbird papier-mâché figure was made to dance while banners proclaimed the slaying of the drought demon. These paintings playfully reimagine their relationship, crafting a mythological romance to explore AI and its costs. The landscapes will incorporate the Baoshan Reservoir, tying the mythology back to real-world locations impacted by water scarcity.
